Valencia Club de Futbol is one of the largest and third most supported club in Spain. Based in the city of Valencia in the south-east of Spain in the Valencian Community, has been consistently successful clubs in Spain even if they do not collect as many trophies they have to do. They have won six La Liga titles and one UEFA Cup so far in their history, but did not reach the final of the Champions League in two consecutive years at the beginning of this century.
Valencia CF was founded in 1919 by Octavio Augusto Milego first ever become president of the club. Valencia have won six La Liga titles, seven Copa del Rey trophies, one UEFA Cup, two Inter-Cities ‘Fairs Cup, one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and two UEFA Super Cup. They won the Spanish first division title twice in three years in 2002 and 2004 under the leadership of Rafael Benitez and also the UEFA Cup winners in 2004.Valencia enjoyed one of their best periods in history under the former Real Madrid player Alfredo di Stefano in the early 1970s. Argentina landed in Valencia in April 1970 and immediately changed shape and change the colors of the club. In his first full season as coach of Valencia in the year 1970-1971 he led Valencia to the Spanish narrowly lost the title and the Copa del Rey with FC Barcelona at the Bernabeu. But Valencia could not take a lot of domestic league success since then until the first few years of the 21st century even after Argentina’s Mario Kempes witch has landed in town with an attractive football in the mid-1970s.Valencia reached the final of the coveted UEFA Champions League in 2000 and 2001, but unfortunately they were trapped Cup curse with them and they lost both meetings. Nou Mestalla has a capacity of 75,000.Valencia CF is a symbol of the bat and there are two different reasons behind choosing such a symbol. One reason is that the bats are abundant in Valencia and in the surrounding area. Another reason cuts deeper and has a historical allusion. As a theory of the case, on October 9, 1238 when James I was about to enter the city of Valencia and to recapture from the Moors, a bat landed on top of his flag and James I is interpreted as a sign of luck.
